Here at Ken Towery's Tire & Autocare, we're grateful to have earned the trust and confidence of so many customers. But we are far more than the sum of our business relationships. We strive to be an integral part of the communities we serve and to give back our time, talents, and financial resources.
Who We Are
Our founders, Charles J. August and Burton S. August, were philanthropic leaders, as well as influential businessmen, giving generously to the United Way and many other charitable, civic, and religious organizations.
“Chuck” August was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 60 years and served as president of the local council. He was a founder of the Temple Sinai and on the board of directors of the Jewish Home Foundation.
Burt served at the local, state, and regional levels of both the United Way and the Boy Scouts, was a trustee of Rochester Institute of Technology, and a board member of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies, The Hillside Family of Agencies, and Unity Health System.
Since our founding 60 years ago, giving to the United Way has always been our primary charitable focus. The corporation and employees participate in the annual United Way campaign in Rochester, New York, our corporate headquarters, as well as in many other communities where we do business.
United Way directly improves lives by mobilizing people and resources to advance the common good, from helping children succeed in school, to assisting parents find jobs, to helping more people access quality, affordable health care.
Many companies have casual dress Fridays. Employees at our corporate headquarters use that tradition to raise money for local charities. Employees who chip in during the week may wear jeans to the office on Friday. Through this simple activity, we raise more than $5,000 annually.
We contribute service certificates to be used as raffles, door prizes, auction items, etc. Our donations benefit:
- Charitable Organizations
- Scholarship Funds
- Sports Teams
- Religious Organizations
- Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Corps
- Health Organizations
